Sublime Stained Glass
Sublime Stained Glass
PHOTO GUIDE
Better photographs help the first conversation become more useful. They do not replace an assessment, but they help identify urgency, access, visible damage and whether the project may involve repair, restoration, protection or removal.

Take one photo showing the entire window, door, panel or opening. Include surrounding walls, frame and nearby access conditions.
Photograph each damaged or concerning area from a few feet away so the location of the issue is clear.
Capture broken glass, loose lead, cracked solder joints, bowing, water staining, failing putty, support bars or exterior protection.
If safe and accessible, photograph the outside of the window, including protective glazing, drainage, frame condition and exposure.
Include a tape measure or common object near the damage when possible. Do not press against fragile glass to do this.
Show whether ladders, lifts, pews, landscaping, memorial fixtures or other obstacles may affect the assessment.
Do not climb to photograph glass if the access is unsafe.
Do not press on bowed or cracked stained glass.
Do not remove loose pieces unless there is an immediate safety concern.
Do not clean painted or historic glass before asking for guidance.
